As part of our campus' efforts towards digital accessibility, the Office of Teaching, Learning, and Technology wants to highlight people who are leading our institution in their commitment to making their courses accessible. These CAFÉ Baristas are instructors who:
Complete the Course Accessibility for Everyone (CAFÉ) training, either in synchronous or asynchronous format
Demonstrate their mastery of digital accessibility best practices by achieving an Ally score of at least 94% on a course site for a class they teach
Submit that course site to dr. eden jones, OTLT's Instructional Accessibility Consultant, for review
Instructors who complete these steps will be recognized as CAFÉ Baristas, those who lead digital accessibility for our students, and will receive a $10 gift card to have a hot beverage on OTLT in thanks for their good efforts.
For more information about the CAFÉ Barista program, please contact eden jones at eden-jones@uiowa.edu and they can answer any questions you might have.
