Biography

As an instructional accessibility consultant, eden provides support, training, and consultation on improving digital accessibility across campus. They developed the Course Accessibility for Everyone (CAFÉ) training program, in both live and asynchronous modes, to help with accessibility in course sites and materials and associated technologies, alongside a number of other hot beverage-themed accessibility efforts: Try, Explore, Adapt (TEA), Advanced Course Accessibility training; Learning Accessibility for Technical Texts and Equations (LATTE), an initiative to find accessibility solutions for things like LaTeX, MathML, and handwritten math solutions; and Course Help for Accessibility in ICON (CHAI), drop-in hours for instructors to receive guidance and assistance regarding digital accessibility. They have received the Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC) certification through the International Association of Accessibility Professionals.

Their PhD research deals with the ideological and political underpinnings of contemporary comic books portraying the conquest of Latin America, with a particular focus on the destruction of Tenochtitlan. Prior to coming to OTLT, eden worked in the Spanish department of the Division of World Languages, Literatures, and Cultures, where they helped coordinate and supervise the Spanish General Education program and assisted faculty in finding technological solutions for their courses.
