This TILE learning space is equipped with an Extron digital touchscreen A/V control panel interface.

  1. To start the A/V system, touch the lectern's control panel interface screen.
  2. Remember to shut down the system when finished.

If you encounter an unresponsive A/V control panel interface:

  1. Check that the projector mute button is not selected. 
  2. Restart the interface.

This learning space is equipped with unique room modes unique that are controlled by the A/V control panel interface. The three room modes available in this learning space are basic, send to all displays, and restore all displays.

  • Basic mode provides normal single monitor multiple screen media lectern functionality with abilities to independently select and display a single source on each screen. This is the default mode.
  • Send to all displays mode provides basic mode functionality plus an advanced capability to display the same main screen source to every table monitor, three total, to help facilitate duplication of content display in large learning spaces.
    • When selecting a specific student table, it will automatically send that student table to all displays. 
    • Check that each student table has the desired HDMI cord chosen, by hitting the oval button near the top of the cord. It should light up blue at that table when that cord is chosen.
  • Restore all displays mode provides a reset to basic and normal single monitor multiple screen media lectern function.

This learning space is equipped with a single lectern computer monitor and multiple projectors/screens, one screen and three monitors, to help facilitate duplication of content display in large learning spaces.

  1. By default, the system will use the lectern computer's monitor.
  2. To view an alternate source, such as Solstice, doc cam, HDMI, student tables, or Blu-Ray, select accordingly on the A/V control panel interface.

If you encounter an unresponsive projector

  1. Check that the mute button is not selected on the interface.

This learning space is equipped with a Windows Desktop workstation computer.

  1. Press the space bar on the computer keyboard to view the main display.
  2. Log in with your HawkID and password.
  3. Log out when finished.

If you can't access the computer’s login menu:

  1. Make sure the A/V system is not muted.
  2. Check that the computer monitor is on.
  3. Check that the HDMI/display port cable is connected to the back of the monitor.
  4. Restart the computer.

This learning space is equipped with a wireless lavaliere microphone. Wireless microphones provide audio input for the room's speakers.

If you encounter a wireless microphone that doesn't work:

  1. Check the microphone display for power and mute.
  2. Check the microphone display for battery replacement. Rechargeable batteries are typically located on the battery charger. Alkaline batteries are typically located in the microphone drawer.
  3. If using rechargeable battery supplies, remember to replace the depleted batteries on the charger.
  4. If nearing the end of the battery supplies, contact the ITS Help Desk for resupply.

This learning space is equipped with a USB microphone. USB microphones provide audio input for lectern computer and its Zoom, UICapture (Panopto), and Skype applications.

They are typically mounted on media lecterns and connected to computer monitor USB hubs. They are always on when plugged in and can be moved within the length of the cable.

If you encounter a computer/web-conferencing USB microphone that doesn't work:

  1. Select the microphone (USB audio CODEC) as the audio input device in Zoom, UICapture (Panopto), or Skype applications.
  2. Check that the USB cable is connected to the back of the USB microphone.
  3. Unplug and re-plug the USB cable on the back of the USB microphone.

This learning space is equipped with a Huddly Go webcam, which is on a flexible mount that can be manually positioned.

If you find a USB camera that doesn't work:

  1. Select the Huddly Go as the camera input or source in the lectern computer's Zoom, UICapture (Panopto), or Skype applications.
  2. Make sure that the USB cable is connected.
  3. Unplug and re-plug the USB cable on the back of the camera.

This learning space is equipped with in-room audio output from the lectern computer through ceiling-mounted speakers that are controlled with the A/V control panel interface.

  1. The A/V control panel interface has a touchscreen volume slider. Drag the slider up to increase the volume, and drag the slider down to decrease the volume.
  2. Press the audio mute all button on the A/V control panel interface to mute audio.

If you can't produce in-room audio from lectern computer with the A/V system on and not muted:

  1. Check that the computer, device, application, or website audio is not muted. 
  2. Increase the audio level of the computer, device, application, website, or A/V control panel interface. 
  3. Select the Extron HDMI (HD Audio Driver for Display Audio) as the speaker or audio playback source in the lectern computer and its Zoom, UICapture (Panopto), or Skype applications.

  1. Select Blu-Ray as the display input or source on the A/V control panel interface.
  2. Press the eject or open/close button on the Blu-Ray media player disc tray or the A/V control panel interface to load a disc.
  3. The Blu-Ray media player may be controlled with the A/V control panel interface or by remote control, which is typically near the Blu-Ray media player or in the A/V rack drawer.

If you can't produce in-room video and audio from Blu-Ray media player with the A/V system on and not muted and Blu-Ray selected:

  1. Increase the A/V control panel interface audio.
  2. Toggle the projector mute button on the A/V control panel interface.
  3. Toggle the mute button on the Blu-Ray remote if available.
  4. Restart the A/V system.
  5. If the disc is a DVD, you may attempt to play it through the lectern computer's DVD drive.

This learning space is equipped with a document camera.

  1. Select doc cam as the display input or source on the A/V control panel interface.
  2. The document camera should automatically power on.

If the document camera can't be projected with the A/V system on and not muted and doc cam selected on the A/V control panel interface:

  1. Check that the document camera has power. 
  2. Check that the output cables are connected.
  3. Toggle the projector mute button on the A/V control panel interface.
  4. Restart the A/V system.

This learning space is equipped with an HDMI cable to display HDMI-capable devices.

  1. To display an HDMI-capable personal device, connect the HDMI cable on the media lectern to the personal device's HDMI-port.
  2. Select HDMI as the display input or source on the A/V control panel interface.
  3. Not all HDMI adapters work with every device and the A/V system. We recommend testing the HDMI connection in advance.

If you can't produce in-room video or audio through HDMI with the A/V system on and not muted and HDMI selected:

  1. Increase the A/V control panel audio level.
  2. Toggle the projector mute button on the control panel interface.
  3. Restart the A/V system.

This learning space is equipped with Solstice wireless collaboration and content sharing platform.

  1. Select Solstice as the source on the A/V control panel interface.
  2. For separate Solstice pods, select the student table and check that table has the proper HDMI cord turned on by clicking the oval button at each table near the end of the HDMI cord. It should turn blue. It should light up blue at that table when that cord is chosen.
  3. To broadcast an individual table's Solstice to the rest of the class, click student tables and select the corresponding table number.

If Solstice can't be projected with the A/V system on and not muted and Solstice selected on the A/V control panel interface:

  1. Contact the ITS Help Desk.
