Giang is a co-service owner of the Interactive Data Analytics Service (IDAS), which provides high-performance computing resources for over 1,000 researchers and students each semester. Giang offers computational support for users, troubleshoots backend container workloads using Kubernetes, and works with the IDAS systems administrator to set the service’s strategies and direction. She enjoys fostering growth and collaboration, having supervised and coached students and full-time staff.

Prior to her experience in research computing, Giang was a data manager for the Iowa Social Science Research Center, where she led technical implementation of survey research projects. Early in her career, she focused on interdisciplinary social science research, co-authoring and presenting research papers at international conferences, including the European Survey Research Association conference and the Joint Statistical Meetings.
