If you’re working on your fall courses this summer, consider taking time this summer to review and improve the accessibility of your courses. By leveraging the resources and support provided by OTLT, you can ensure that your course materials are accessible to everyone and can make a significant difference in the learning experience.

Dig into your course with Ally

Anthology Ally is now integrated into all ICON courses. Ally Indicators, which use a color-coded system (red, orange, light green, and dark green gauges), show the accessibility of each content item ICON. It also offers step-by-step guidance on how to improve it.

Work with a SITA to improve documents

The Student Instructional Technology Assistants (SITA) program is available to assist you in making your course documents more accessible. Whether you need help with Word or PowerPoint formats or need assistance fixing PDFs when original files are unavailable, SITAs are here to help. You can easily reach out to the SITA program via email to learn more about their services.

Pilot the new ICON course template

OTLT worked with other campus partners to develop an ICON course site template for instructors. This template guides the layout and presentation of course materials in easy-to-understand ways and provides modern aesthetic page design and advice on helping make course sites as accessible as possible.
