This learning space is equipped with an Crestron digital touchscreen A/V control panel interface that requires a passcode.

  1. To start A/V system, touch the lectern's control panel interface screen, then enter passcode from ITS Help Desk.
  2. Make sure the stage is clear for the projector before turning on the A/V system.
  3. When prompted to select an operating mode, chose either wide screen, single projection, 16:9, or dual screen, dual projection, 4:3.
  4. Remember to shutdown the system when done.

If you encounter an unresponsive A/V control panel interface:

  1. Check that the display mute button is not selected. To mute the entire raster hit display mute on the primary A/V interface. To individually mute your projects in dual screen mode, go to tools and select the desired display mute under projector far or projector near.
  2. Check that the monitors are on.
  3. Restart the interface.

This learning space is equipped with unique operating modes that are controlled by the A/V control panel interface. The two operating modes available in this learning space are wide screen and dual screen.

  • Wide screen mode provides dual monitor single screen media lectern functionality with abilities to independently select and display various sources on each screen. 
  • Dual screen mode provides dual monitor dual screen media lectern functionality plus an advanced capability to independently select and display various sources to a supplemental confidence monitor, found under the enhanced source selection.

This learning space is equipped with dual lectern computer monitors and a single projector/screen in wide screen mode.

  1. By default, the system will use the lectern computer's  primary monitor as its source.
  2. To view an alternate source, such as PC Extended, mac mini, doc cam 1, doc cam 2, HDMI, Blu-Ray, laptop HDMI, laptop VGA, or wireless BYOD, select accordingly on the A/V control panel interface.
  3. To view alternate sources on the computer monitors, select enhanced source selection and the desire sources.

If you encounter an unresponsive projector:

  1. Check that the display mute button is not selected on the interface.

This learning space is equipped with dual lectern computer monitors and dual projectors/screens in dual screen mode.

  1. By default, the system will use the lectern computer's primary monitor and PC extended, the room computer's two monitors, for each display.
  2. To view an alternate source, such as mac mini, doc cam 1, doc cam 2, HDMI, Blu-Ray, laptop HDMI, laptop VGA, or wireless BYOD, select accordingly on the A/V control panel interface.
  3. To view alternate sources on the computer monitors, select enhanced source selection and the desire sources.
  4. When you switch inputs, your local monitor may mirror your last changed input. If you want your monitor and last input change to not mirror, use the A/V interface and select your desired input under the local monitor section. 
  5. To switch between modes (this process can only be done once without restarting the entire system):
    • Hit tools
    • Press switch operating modes.
    • Then press continue with mode change.

If you encounter an unresponsive projector:

  1. Check that the display mute button is not selected on the interface.

This learning space is equipped with a Windows Desktop workstation computer and an Apple Macintosh Mini workstation computer.

  1. Press the space bar on the computer keyboard to view the main display.
  2. Log in with your HawkID and password.
  3. Select wide screen or dual screen for the computer monitors. This can be changed at any time by selecting a different option from the desktop.
  4. Log out when finished.

If you can't access the computer’s login menu:

  1. Check that the display mute button is on selected on the control panel interface..
  2. Check that the computer monitor is on.
  3. Check that the HDMI/display port cable is connected to the back of the monitor.
  4. Restart the computer.

To switch from Windows to Macintosh:

  1. Set any projector to mac mini.
  2. Set any monitor to mac mini.
  3. Set the keyboard and mouse to mac mini. 
  4. Press the space bar on the computer keyboard to wake the mac mini. 
  5. If the mac mini was previously shutdown, a restart may be necessary. 
  6. The mac mini will not allow use of the graphic drawing tablet touchscreen capability.

This learning space is equipped with a graphic drawing tablet monitor for the lectern computer's monitor.

To use it:

  1. Select PC as the display source on the A/V control panel interface. Typically, the A/V system will use the lectern computer's monitor as its default source.
  2. Select the appropriate lectern computer application for use with the graphic drawing tablet monitor.
  3. To check the tablet's calibration, drag the Wacom pen across desktop.
  4. If the calibration is incorrect, open the Wacom tablet properties app. Find the shortcut on the desktop.
    1. Select the calibrate tab and change the monitor to generic PnP monitor 2, if not already selected.
    2. Click the calibrate button and put the pen tip to each of the four cross-hairs presented.
    3. When calibration is complete, retest the calibration by dragging the pen across desktop. If the calibration is incorrect, redo the calibration steps.

If you encounter a graphic drawing tablet monitor that doesn't work:

  1. Contact the ITS Help Desk.

This learning space is equipped with wireless lavaliere and handheld microphones. Wireless microphones provide audio input for the room's speakers and the lectern computer and its Zoom, UICapture (Panopto), and Skype applications.

If you encounter a wireless microphone that doesn't work:

  1. Check the microphone display for power and mute.
  2. Check the microphone display for battery replacement. Rechargeable batteries are typically located on the battery charger. Alkaline batteries are typically located in the microphone drawer.
  3. If using rechargeable battery supplies, remember to replace the depleted batteries on the charger.
  4. If nearing the end of the battery supplies, contact the ITS Help Desk for resupply.
  5. Select Microphone (ATR2USB) as the audio source device in the lectern computer's Zoom, UICapture (Panopto), or Skype applications.

This learning space is equipped with a Huddly Go webcam, which is on a flexible mount that can be manually positioned.

If you find a USB camera that doesn't work:

  1. Select the Huddly Go as the camera input or source in the lectern computer's Zoom, UICapture (Panopto), or Skype applications.
  2. Make sure that the USB cable is connected.
  3. Unplug and re-plug the USB cable on the back of the camera.

This learning space is equipped with in-room audio output from the lectern computer through ceiling-mounted speakers that are controlled with the A/V control panel interface.

  1. The A/V control panel interface has touchscreen volume buttons. Press the volume up to increase the volume, and press the volume down to decrease the volume.
  2. Press the audio mute button on the A/V control panel interface to mute audio.

If you can't produce in-room audio from lectern computer with the A/V system on and not muted:

  1. Check that the computer, device, application, or website audio is not muted. 
  2. Increase the audio level of the computer, device, application, website, or A/V control panel interface. 
  3. Select the (Intel(R) Display Audio HDMI 2) as the speaker or audio playback source in the lectern computer and its Zoom, UICapture (Panopto), or Skype applications.

  1. Select Blu-Ray as the display input or source on the A/V control panel interface.
  2. Press the eject or open/close button on the Blu-Ray media player disc tray or the A/V control panel interface to load a disc.
  3. The Blu-Ray media player may be controlled with the A/V control panel interface or by remote control, which is typically near the Blu-Ray media player or in the A/V rack drawer.

If you can't produce in-room video and audio from Blu-Ray media player with the A/V system on and not muted and Blu-Ray selected:

  1. Increase the A/V control panel interface audio.
  2. Toggle the display mute button on the A/V control panel interface.
  3. Toggle the mute button on the Blu-Ray remote if available.
  4. Restart the A/V system.
  5. If the disc is a DVD, you may attempt to play it through the lectern computer's DVD drive.

This learning space is equipped with two document cameras and dual document camera capability.

  1. Select doc cam 1 and/or doc cam 2 as the display sources on the A/V control panel interface. 
  2. The document camera should automatically power on.

If the document camera can't be projected with the A/V system on and not muted and doc cam 1 and/or 1 selected on the A/V control panel interface:

  1. Check that the document camera has power. Typically, the power button light should turn green when on.
  2. Check that the output cables are connected.
  3. Toggle the display mute button on the A/V control panel interface.
  4. Restart the A/V system.

This learning space is equipped with an HDMI and VGA cable to display HDMI-capable or VGA-capable devices.

  1. To display an HDMI-capable or VGA-capable personal device, connect the HDMI cable or the VGA cable on the media lectern to the personal device's HDMI-port or VGA-port.
  2. Select laptop HDMI or laptop VGA as the display input or source on the A/V control panel interface. The system will not allow you to use HDMI and VGA simultaneously.
  3. Not all HDMI or VGA adapters work with every device and the A/V system. We recommend testing the HDMI or VGA connection in advance.

If you can't produce in-room video or audio through HDMI or VGA with the A/V system on and not muted and laptop HDMI or laptop VGA selected:

  1. Increase the A/V control panel audio level.
  2. Toggle the display mute or audio mute button on the control panel interface.
  3. Restart the A/V system.

This learning space is equipped with Solstice wireless collaboration and content sharing platform. 

  1. Select wireless BOYD as the source on the A/V control panel interface.

If Solstice can't be projected with the A/V system on and not muted and wireless BOYD selected on the A/V control panel interface:

  1. Contact the ITS Help Desk.
