OTLT spent the summer updating and improving technology in many university learning spaces. Here’s a quick look at what happened during the summer:
Van Allen Hall 70: A large overhaul of the space including the renovation of audio/visual equipment to improve the student experience. During the project, the room was also reconfigured to improve students' sight lines to the lectern.
Health Sciences Academic Building: Phase two completion led to the creation of 10 University Classrooms and many unique learning spaces. For example, the anatomy labs now have specialized cameras that integrate with the audio/visual system in the room, and the nutrition labs have cameras to help record making recipes in a commercial kitchen setup.
Art Building West: New lecterns and technology were added to 110, 112, and 240. These spaces have new microphones, updated audio/visual switching technology, refreshed computers, and new height-adjustable lecterns. These additions help the rooms meet University Classroom standards, which helps instructors by creating a similar teaching experience.
Dance Building (formerly PAX): New University Classrooms and several departmental labs and studios were added.
Seamans Center 3258: The team added new display technology to the room, moving from a projector and screen to a direct display.
All University Classroom computers: 512 solid state drives, new storage units, will improve storage and performance.
