This TILE learning space is equipped with an Extron digital touchscreen A/V control panel interface.

  1. To start the A/V system, select a mode by touching the lectern's control panel interface screen.
  2. Remember to shut down the system when finished.

If you encounter an unresponsive A/V control panel interface:

  1. Check that the mute or restore all displays button is not selected.
  2. Check that the monitors are on.
  3. Restart the interface.

This learning space is equipped with unique room modes that are controlled by the A/V control panel interface. The three room modes available in this learning space are basic, send to all displays, and restore all displays.

  • Basic mode provides normal single monitor single screen media lectern functionality with abilities to independently select and display a single source on each screen. This is the default mode.
  • Send to all displays mode provides basic mode functionality plus an advanced capability to display the same main screen source to every table monitor, four total, to help facilitate duplication of content display in large learning spaces.
  • Restore all displays mode provides a reset to basic mode and normal single monitor single screen media lectern function.

Room modes can be changed during a session by pressing the desired room mode button on the A/V control panel interface.

This learning space is equipped with a single lectern computer monitor and multiple projectors/screens, four screens total, to help facilitate duplication of content display in large learning spaces.

  1. By default, the system will use the lectern computer's monitor as its source.
  2. To view an alternate source, such as Solstice, doc cam, HDMI, or student tables, select accordingly on the A/V control panel interface.

If you encounter an unresponsive projector

  1. Check that the mute button is not selected on the interface.

Computer microphones are typically mounted on media lecterns. This microphone provides voice lift for the room. This system has a Gooseneck Microphone that must be turned on at the base of the microphone by pressing a button at the base.

If you encounter a computer microphone that doesn't work:

  1. Select Microphone (Sound Blaster Play! 3) as audio input device in Zoom, UICapture (Panopto), or Skype applications.

This learning space is equipped with a wall-mounted camera.

If you find a USB camera that doesn't work:

  1. Select the ClearVIEW HD-USB as the camera input or source in the lectern computer's Zoom, UICapture (Panopto), or Skype applications.

This learning space is equipped with in-room audio output from the lectern computer through ceiling-mounted speakers that are controlled with the A/V control panel interface.

  1. The A/V control panel interface has a touchscreen volume slider. Press the up arrow to increase the volume, and press the down arrow to decrease the volume.
  2. Press the audio mute button on the A/V control panel interface to mute audio.

If you can't produce in-room audio from lectern computer with the A/V system on and not muted:

  1. Check that the computer, device, application, or website audio is not muted.
  2. Increase the audio level of the computer, device, application, website, or A/V control panel interface.
  3. Select the Sound Blaster Play! 3 as the speaker or audio playback source in the lectern computer and its Zoom, UICapture (Panopto), or Skype applications.

This learning space is equipped with a document camera.

  1. Select doc cam as the display input or source on the A/V control panel interface.
  2. The document camera should automatically power on.

If the document camera can't be projected with the A/V system on and not muted and doc cam selected on the A/V control panel interface:

  1. Check that the document camera has power. Typically, the power button light should turn green when on.
  2. Check that the output cables are connected.
  3. Toggle the send/restore all displays buttons on the A/V control panel interface.
  4. Restart the A/V system.

This learning space is equipped with an HDMI cable to display HDMI-capable devices.

  1. To display an HDMI-capable personal device, connect the HDMI cable on the media lectern to the personal device's HDMI-port.
  2. Select HDMI as the display input or source on the A/V control panel interface.
  3. Not all HDMI adapters work with every device and the A/V system. We recommend testing the HDMI connection in advance.

If you can't produce in-room video or audio through HDMI with the A/V system on and not muted and HDMI selected:

  1. Increase the A/V control panel audio level.
  2. Toggle the send/restore all displays buttons on the A/V control panel interface.
  3. Restart the A/V system.
