ICON Dashboard Changes
The ICON Dashboard at icon.uiowa.edu will begin a decommissioning process starting May 26, 2026. Users will be redirected to the Canvas dashboard at https://uiowa.instructure.com/ . Content has been moved from the ICON Dashboard (Legacy) to the ICON Global Navigation menu to the left when you log into ICON.

- My Career Path: A University of Iowa program that recommends career development activities and tracks progress toward career milestones.
- QR for Mobile login: a way to more quickly log in to the Canvas Mobile.
- Global Announcements: Review ICON announcements that you've dismissed.
- Accessibility Settings: You can toggle on or off Use High Contrast UI and Dyslexia Friendly Font.
Dashboard
Canvas Dashboard features include accessing classes, a to do list, and Global Announcements.
Courses
This lists all of your Courses. You can click All Courses at the top to go to a page where you can mark courses as favorites by clicking the star to the left of them. This only impacts what order courses are displayed on the Courses page.
Groups
This links to groups you are part of in ICON courses.
Calendar
The ICON Calendar lists events, such as due dates associated with courses.
Inbox
The inbox allows you to manage messages and notifications in ICON.
History
History allows you to review your ICON page view history.
SPOT
Student Perceptions of Teaching (SPOT) allow students to give end of semester course feedback.

The Well-being icon has University and local resources for students and faculty.
Student
- UI Support & Crisis Line: 24/7 chat, phone or text support for students, faculty, and staff.
- Basic Needs: Basic needs resources, including a food pantry, meal share program, emergency assistance, and connection to community resources.
- Recreational Services: Variety of recreational facilities and experiences to encourage active lifestyles.
- Student Care & Assistance: Coordination of support to help overcome challenges to academic success.
- Student Health: Campus healthcare experts, including primary care, gynecology and mental health care.
- Student Wellness: Appointments and programs on mindfulness, nutrition, physical activity, sleep, stress management, and substance use.
