This TILE learning space is equipped with an Extron digital touchscreen A/V control panel interface.

  1. To start the A/V system, select a mode by touching the lectern's control panel interface screen.
  2. Remember to shut down the system when finished.

If you encounter an unresponsive A/V control panel interface:

  1. Check that the blank display button is not selected. 
  2. Restart the interface.

This learning space is equipped with unique room modes that are controlled via the A/V control panel interface. The five room modes available in this learning space are lecture, collaboration, breakout, broadcast, and rest. The audio matches the input for the screens/projectors.

  • Lecture mode provides basic functionality to display single or dual source or inputs on the projectors to help facilitate content display in larger learning spaces. By default, this mode provides single monitor multiple screen media lectern functionality with the capability to display the same source or input on multiple projectors. 
    • To provide single monitor dual screen media lectern functionality with the capability to independently display a unique source or input on the left projector and the right projector, toggle the mirror projectors button on the main menu, then independently select projector sources. Computer is the default source or input for both projectors. 
    • To switch modes, select the power off button and then select collaboration under the reset classroom mode.
  • Collaboration mode provides basic functionality to display an independent, single source or input on each monitor to help facilitate group content display. By default, this mode provides single monitor multiple screen media lectern functionality with the capability to display the same source or input on multiple monitors.
    • To provide single monitor multiple screen media lectern functionality with the advanced capability to independently display a group source or input at each table, toggle the breakout mode button, then select the display source. Wireless is the default setting for all student displays.
  • Breakout mode is a sub-mode that provides functionality that allows each individual table to display its own content as the source or input for a breakout session or group work. Access this mode by selecting collaboration mode at startup. 
    • The options for student displays on the control panel include wireless, which is the default, or laptop.
  • Broadcast mode provides lecture mode or collaboration mode functionality plus an advanced capability to broadcast various sources or inputs to remote learning spaces in select College of Nursing Building room locations. 
    • Toggle the broadcast button on, then select source to broadcast. None selected is the default setting. 
    • Toggle the broadcast button off to reset the system to lectern mode or collaboration mode. 
  • Reset classroom mode allows users to switch between lectern mode and collaboration mode without restarting the A/V system. Access this mode via the power system off button.

This learning space is equipped with a single lectern computer monitor and multiple screens/monitors to help facilitate duplication of content display in large learning spaces. This feature is available in lectern and collaboration modes.

  1. When mirror projectors is selected, the system will use the lectern computer's primary monitor as its default source.
  2. To view or project an alternate source, such as wireless, document camera, or laptop, select the display input selection on the A/V control panel interface.

If you encounter an unresponsive monitor:

  1. Check that the blank display button is not selected on the A/V control panel interface.

This learning space is equipped with a single lectern computer monitor and dual projectors/screens in lectern mode to help facilitate multiple sources of display content. This functionality is not available in collaboration mode. 

  1. De-select the mirror projectors option on the main menu. 
  2. The system will use the lectern's computer monitor for the left and right project by default. 
  3. To view or project an alternate source, such as wireless, document camera, or laptop, select the display input selection on the A/V control panel interface.

If you encounter an unresponsive monitor:

  1. Check that the blank display button is not selected on the A/V control panel interface.

This learning space is equipped with a Windows Desktop workstation computer.

  1. The A/V system will use the lectern computer's primary monitor as its default source.
  2. Press the space bar on the computer keyboard to view the main display.
  3. Log in with your HawkID and password.
  4. Log out when finished.

If you can't access the computer’s login menu:

  1. Check that the computer monitor is on.
  2. Check that the HDMI/display port cable is connected to the back of the monitor.
  3. Restart the computer.

This learning space is equipped with wired ceiling microphones to provide audio input for the lectern computer and its Zoom, UICapture (Panopto), and Skype applications.

If you encounter ceiling microphones that don't work:

  1. Select speakerphone (2-Extron MediaPort200 Speakerphone) as the audio input or source device in the lectern computer's Zoom, UICapture (Panopto), or Skype applications. 

This learning space is equipped with wireless lavaliere and handheld microphones. Wireless microphones provide audio input for the room's speakers and the lectern computer and its Zoom, UICapture (Panopto), and Skype applications.

  1. Microphone audio levels and muting can also be controlled on the audio menu of the control panel interface. 

If you encounter a wireless microphone that doesn't work:

  1. Check the microphone display for power and mute.
  2. Check the microphone display for battery replacement. Rechargeable batteries are typically located on the battery charger. Alkaline batteries are typically located in the microphone drawer.
  3. If using rechargeable battery supplies, remember to replace the depleted batteries on the charger.
  4. If nearing the end of the battery supplies, contact the ITS Help Desk for resupply.
  5. The wireless microphone may require re-pairing with microphone base.
  6. Select speakerphone (2-Extron MediaPort200 Speakerphone) as the audio source device in the lectern computer and its Zoom, UICapture (Panopto), or Skype applications.

This learning space is equipped with a wall-mounted PTZ camera that can be re-positioned with the A/V control panel interface. 

  1. Press the camera source button on the A/V control panel interface to access options.

If you find a USB camera that doesn't work:

  1. Select Extron MediaPort200 as the camera input or source in the lectern computer's Zoom, UICapture (Panopto), or Skype applications.

This learning space is equipped with in-room audio output from the lectern computer through ceiling-mounted speakers that are controlled with the A/V control panel interface.

  1. The A/V control panel interface has a touchscreen volume buttons. Press volume up to increase the volume, and press volume down to decrease the volume.
  2. Press the audio mute all button on the A/V control panel interface to mute audio.
  3. Levels and muting can also be controlled through the audio menu of the control panel interface.

If you can't produce in-room audio from lectern computer with the A/V system on and not muted:

  1. Check that the computer and application or website audio is not muted.
  2. Increase the audio level of the computer, device, application, or the A/V control panel interface.
  3. Select SVSi NSeries (Intel(R) Display Audio) as the speaker or audio playback source in the lectern computer and its Zoom, UICapture (Panopto), or Skype applications.

This learning space is equipped with a document camera.

  1. Select doc cam as the display input or source on the A/V control panel interface.
  2. The document camera should automatically power on.

If the document camera can't be projected with the A/V system on and not muted and doc cam selected on the A/V control panel interface:

  1. Press the power button on the document camera. Typically, the power button light should turn green when on.
  2. Check that the output cables are connected.
  3. Toggle the blank display button on the A/V control panel interface.
  4. Restart the A/V system.

This learning space is equipped with an HDMI cable to display from an HDMI-capable personal device.

  1. To display a HDMI-capable device, connect the HDMI cable on the media lectern to the personal device's HDMI-port.
  2. Select laptop as the display input or source on the A/V control panel interface.
  3. Not all HDMI adapters work with every device and the A/V system. We recommend testing the HDMI connection in advance.

If you can't produce in-room video or audio through the HDMI with the A/V system on and not muted and laptop selected:

  1. Increase the A/V control panel audio level.
  2. Toggle the blank projector button or the mute all button on the A/V control panel interface.
  3. Restart the A/V system.

This learning space is equipped with Solstice wireless collaboration and content sharing platform. 

  1. Select wireless as the source on the A/V control panel interface.

If Solstice can't be projected with the A/V system on and not muted and wireless selected on the A/V control panel interface:

  1. Contact the ITS Help Desk.

This learning space is equipped with an accessible media lectern with adjustable height capability.
