Proposal Summary: With programming support from Academic Technologies I will develop two web-based tools for instructional multimedia. The first, Drill Designer, is a set of subroutines to handle practice item queuing and data storage. It allows instructors to easily create practice activities to maximize retention. The other, Response Analyzer, is a collection of subroutines for comparison of learner response text to correct answer text. It can handle all combinations of spelling, punctuation, and capitalization errors, thereby allowing leniency in recognizing typed responses.
