Abstract:

<p>The University of Iowa&rsquo;s Transform, Interact, Learn, and Engage (TILE) project&nbsp;encompasses a commitment to an active-learning pedagogical philosophy that infuses technology into collaborative learning spaces. The project is designed to foster collaboration and student interaction with both peers and faculty in an effort to enhance student learning outcomes. This case study discusses a study we conducted to investigate student perceptions of the factors that helped them learn subject material in TILE classrooms; why instructors in TILE classrooms used specific strategies; and how students perceived the effectiveness of those strategies.</p>
