As a Student Instructional Technology Assistant, Michael provides innovative solutions for faculty whose aim is to enhance the student learning experience. To that end, he combines technology resources to create forward thinking pedagogical solutions for instructors.

Prior to joining SITA, Michael worked as a TA in the College of Education, assisting with methods courses for pre-service English teachers. For 4 years before beginning his MA program, he taught high school English in Marshalltown, Iowa.

Michael has worked with UI professors Bonnie Sunstein and Amy Shoutlz, the University of Chicago Press, and a consortium of teachers across the country on teaching research in high school using the Turabian Manual for Writers. He presented on digital research tools at the National Council for Teachers of English Annual Convention in 2014.
