Kirk Batterson
Kirk Batterson is the Assistant Director of Learning Spaces Support and serves on the Learning Spaces Technology leadership team.
Kirk is responsible for the department's service and support operations. He does this by managing a team to provide faculty and staff professional development through consulting and training, computing procurement and deployment, and AV conservation efforts throughout all University Classrooms. Prior to joining Learning Spaces Technology in 2019, he was a Senior IT Support Consultant who headed Enterprise Instructional Technology’s lecture capture and web conferencing division. He played a key role in the continued development of strategic collegiate relationships, centralizing distributed services, and ensuring flexibility in response to an increasingly demanding marketplace.
Prior to joining The Office of Teaching, Learning & Technology, Kirk provided frontline technical support for critical University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics services which included systems from EPIC, Cerner, and GE.
Kirk also spent over three years with the University of Iowa’s College of Pharmacy, providing IT support for pharmaceutical research in the form of Active Directory management, server support, and network infrastructure installation.
Kirk earned a BA from the University of Iowa, where he studied cinema.
