Eva joined the center in spring 2022 as an assistant director. She focuses on course design and helping new faculty navigate their first semesters teaching at the UI. She leads the Early Career Faculty Academy, which supports new tenure-track assistant professors to employ effective and rewarding teaching pedagogies, network with other faculty members, and develop their teaching portfolios in preparation for the third-year review.

Prior to joining Center for Teaching, she served as the interim assistant director of the Writing and Rhetoric Program at the University of Virginia (UVA). She has also served as co-director of the Inventory of Writing and Rhetoric Online Teaching Efficacy (i-WROTE) initiative, supported the SoTL Scholars program at UVA’s Center for Teaching Excellence, and provided support to faculty transitioning to online instruction during the summer of 2020 through UVA’s Learning Design & Technology unit. 

Her interests include course design, curriculum design, writing pedagogy, inclusive and radical pedagogies, and critical university studies.
