OTLT offers in-person trainings for instructors and staff on an array of teaching technology tools, and several of our vendors also offer online trainings or video tutorials that can be useful when you want a refresher.

ICON (Canvas)

Canvas has a robust online community that contains documentation, training videos, interest groups, and information on new features. Instructors may be interested in the Canvas Higher-Ed group and the Canvas Instructional Designers group. To sign in, click “Login in," located in the upper right corner of the community websites, and sign in with your HawkID.

Canvas also offers video overviews of each tool.

UICapture (Panopto)

Panopto provides videos that explain how to use UICapture, with topics ranging from recording and editing videos to managing multiple videos.

Kaltura

Kaltura has tutorial videos on using Kaltura in ICON (Canvas), embedding media in other parts of Canvas, creating interactive video quizzes, and collaborating on media with other instructors.

Peerceptiv

Peerceptiv, the peer-review software that is integrated into ICON, has a site that provides live support and webinar registration.

Top Hat

Top Hat offers webinars to instructors about their many products.

Turnitin

If you would like to know more about Turnitin, there is an interactive training site that will cover the entire cycle of an assignment and the Turnitin tools that are available to instructors.

Respondus

Respondus offers webinars on using Respondus 4, a quiz authoring tool, as well as the Respondus LockDown Browser for secure online testing.

Zoom

Zoom offers online live training webinars. For instructors new to using Zoom, we recommend Getting Started with Zoom (30 minutes) and Zoom Meetings Training (60 minutes). Users can also review recorded training sessions.
