Please join us in welcoming three new staff members to the Office of Teaching, Learning, and Technology (OTLT).

Lauren Andrews

As an IT support consultant on the Enterprise Instructional Technology team, Andrews provides service management and tier-three user support for several of the enterprise instructional technology services.

Andrews is a graduate of Illinois Central College and Truett McConnell College, where she received an associate's degree in interpreter preparation and a bachelor's degree in history, respectively. She is currently pursuing a master's degree in linguistics at the University of Iowa.

Prior to joining OTLT, she was an instructional services specialist in the UI Center for Language and Culture Learning, where she primarily worked with the American Sign Language faculty. Her strengths include technical support, troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and accessibility.

"I plan to take advantage of support and service lead opportunities in order to broaden my instructional technology knowledge and develop my troubleshooting and customer service skills," says Andrews.

Eden Jones

Jones is a course improvement partner with the Instructional Services team. In this role, Jones serves as a facilitator, convener, and subject matter expert for course-based continuous improvement efforts focused on student success, including the Excellence in Teaching and Learning P3 Initiative and projects with other campus units.

Jones has 10 years' experience as a faculty member and graduate instructor and five years' experience in course development and instructional design. They hold a master's degree in Spanish language and literature and a PhD in colonial Spanish American literature and comics studies.

"I'm excited to join this team of dedicated educators and thinkers in this project to help make sure our students have the best learning experiences we can provide," says Jones.

Nicole Villanueva

Villanueva recently joined the Academic Technologies team as an IT support consultant. She provides support, training, and consultation for several of the enterprise instructional technology services.

Villanueva is a graduate of the University of Iowa, where she received her bachelor's degree in French and linguistics and her master's degree in linguistics. Previously, she worked as an instructional services manager for the UI Center for Language and Culture Learning, where she primarily worked with faculty to implement instructional technology in their classrooms.

"I am excited to work with faculty across campus and help them feel confident in using instructional technology in the classroom," says Villanueva.
