Course Design Institute alumni reconnected earlier this month for the first Course Design Institute reunion. The institute, a multi-day workshop for instructors wishing to learn how to design or substantially revise a course, has occurred annually every May since 2016. Sixty-three faculty members from 11 University of Iowa colleges have participated in it since its inception.

“The purpose of the reunion was to build upon faculty members’ experiences in the Course Design Institute,” said Sara Nasrollahian, assistant director for the Center for Teaching. “We wanted to provide a forum in which cohorts from the past four years can share successes, challenges, and ideas regarding the backward design process and the teaching techniques explored in the Institute.”

Spring 2020 will mark the fifth year of the institute. Please fill out a short form to receive an email notification when applications open for the 2020 Course Design Institute.
