Machine Learning

As society eyes networked technology with both excitement and skepticism, universities across the country are deploying systems that collect and analyze vast amounts of student data to predict and support student success and reach other institutional goals.

In response to that growing interest, this year’s annual 4CAST (Campus Academic Strategies and Technology) conference will provide UI faculty members an opportunity to consider and discuss their roles as instructors, their course formats, and overall student success as the world of machine learning and artificial intelligence continues to grow.

This year’s 4CAST keynote address will be presented by Sudha Ram, Anheuser-Busch Chair in MIS, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation, Professor of Management Information Systems, and Director of INSITE: Center for Business Intelligence and Analytics, at the University of Arizona.

For the last dozen years, the Office of Teaching, Learning & Technology and the UI Libraries have teamed up to host 4CAST, which focusses on a trending topic in teaching and learning technologies in higher education. The event’s goal is to leverage these technologies and connect UI instructors across disciplinary boundaries.

Be sure to mark your calendars for 4CAST’19 – Thursday, January 10, 2019, 8:30 am – 3:00 pm, 2520-UCC, and be on the lookout for registration information in the coming weeks.
