Proposal Summary:

We would like to create an online version of a currently enrolled class.

For the last 6 years, librarians in the Pomerantz Business Library have taught a 1 hour for credit course in the College of Business. It is 6B:050, Information Retrieval for Business. In the course, we explore the various online (and some print) resources that are currently being used for business and economics research. Various online databases (for example, Factiva, MergentOnline, ABI/Inform, National Trade Data Bank, Lexis/Nexis) are demonstrated in class. We believe an online course would allow us to enroll more students in the course and thus increase the number of undergraduate business students who are competent with using the major business/economics databases.
